All hirer's of the 3.5 ton horsebox need to be between 25 - 75 years old. I will need a £40 non-refundable part payment to secure any date for you and full payment one week before the hire date. I will need to know if the driver has any points on their licence in the last 5 years or had any claims within the last 3 years (even third party one's) I will also need to see and take copies of the drivers CARD and PAPER copy of their licence and 2 recent utility bills both dated within two months of the start date of the hire. Please see the above links for a hirer's insurance questionnaire, booking form and our terms and conditions. These forms will need to completed and returned to me. I cannot let the lorry go out on hire without the correct documentation.
From 8th June 2015, the DVLA are making significant driver licencing changes:-
Motoring convictions will no longer be printed on any paper driving licence.The paper counterpart of the two part (photocard and paper counterpart) driving licence is withdrawn. Therefore, from 8th June 2015, the following may be accepted as evidence of the existence of a driving licence being held:-
A current photocard licence
An (old style) pre-1998 paper driving licence
Current licence convictions must be checked by contacting the DVLA. There is now an on-line checking system provided free of charge by the DVLA:-
- Hirer logs on here https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number to to obtain a One Time Use Access Code, which is valid for 21 days (a hirer needs their Driving Licence number, National Insurance Number and Postcode to do this).
- Hirer gives you their One Time Use Access Code and their Driving Licence number ( last eight digits only)
Day Rate Monday-Friday 8am-6pm £100 (max 300 mile limit)
Day Rate Saturday-Sunday 8am-6pm £120 (max 300 mile limit)
Evening hires 4pm - 10pm £100
(Evening before pick up if needed at no extra cost and if lorry is available)
Weekend Rate Friday 6pm-Sunday 6pm £220 (max 600 mile limit)
Weekend Rate Friday 8am-Sunday 6pm £280 (max 650 mile limit)
Lorry must be return with a full tank of fuel at the end of the hire. Please see terms and conditions for additional charges that will apply if the fuel is not replaced.
Excess mileage will be charged at 45p per mile.
